Sheryl E. Healy

Sheryl E. Healy graduated from the University of Iowa in 1973 and received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola School of Law where she was 1st in her class. She received the Justice White Award for scholarship. She is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Ms. Healy has practiced for twenty-five years in civil litigation at both the trial and appellate level. She has been involved in several pieces of multi-million dollar litigation with successful results, ranging from personal injury and medical malpractice to construction litigation.

At Gunty & McCarthy, Ms. Healy's work is concentrated in asbestos litigation defense, toxic lead exposure cases and construction litigation as well as personal injury defense. Ms. Healy recently authored an article for the Illinois Bar journal on the Uniform Mediation Act and is a Cook County certified mediator. She is also a member of the National Association for Conflict Resolution and served as a Cook County arbitrator for over ten years.

Ms. Healy is involved in the Community Economic Development Association, one of the largest non-profit charitable organizations in Illinois where she sat on the Executive Board.
