JEAN M. FRENCH received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from the University of Illinois (Champaign, Urbana) in 1982 and her Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in 1985. She is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Ms. French has practiced over the past 20 years with both plaintiff and defense firms specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability and subrogation cases with a concentration in fire loss. She has managed cases of significant exposure through all phases of litigation. Her trial experience includes medical malpractice and property damage matters and she has arbitrated various cases with successful results for the defense.
Ms. French handles personal injury, product liability and toxic tort litigation on behalf of Gunty & McCarthy. She has participated as an investigator for the Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee which screens judicial candidates. She served as an arbitrator at the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Center located in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. French has participated in the DuPage Rail Safety Council which has sponsored legislative changes to promote increased safety at railroad crossings in Illinois. She has also participated in the Illinois State Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association of Illinois and the Chicago Bar Association.
Ms. French is an active member in local sports and has coached her children's teams throughout the years in soccer, baseball, basketball and softball. She currently serves on the core planning team for strategic planning for Pleasantdale School District #107.
